Where Fashion and Fros Collide

This past weekend we attended the New Orleans Natural Hair Expo (NONHE) and Essence Fest! It was our first time in the city of music and amazing food and trust us, we were there to slay with our curl friends!

Thursday, Dayna was able to attend a Welcome soiree hosted by Dark and Lovely! It was a small event filled with influencers and the entire Dark and Lovely marketing team. We had drinks, food and talked products and Curly Nikki's new book! Dayna even met the natural hair pioneer herself! She was the sweetest!

Friday we were able to go to Essence Fest and check out their Beauty and Style Expo! There we were able to see some familiar faces and check out some of our favorite hair care brands!

Next, we attended the Design Essentials Event! It was a beautiful event. We were able to meet the oh so beautiful celebrity natural hair stylist, Felicia Leatherwood! She hosted the event along with Chrisette Michelle! We both got asked to participate in an on camera hair texture demo by Felicia! She demonstrated the difference in each girl's hair texture! We were amongst other bloggers: Amber Janielle,  Carrisa and Amber of Naturally GG!  After the event we each walked away with a swag bag full of Design Essentials products that we can't wait to try!

Saturday we attended the New Orleans Natural Hair Expo! The space was beautiful! Dayna worked at the Kinky Curly Yaki (KCY)  booth with blogger friend Janae (@Nae2curly). Both Dayna and Nae explained to each Naturalista that stopped by, the benefits of clip/ins and protective styling! Brittany managed KCY's social media! Overall it was an absolutely awesome event. It was hosted by our blogger curl-friends Romance (@heycurlie), Yolanda (@etcblogmag) and Jessica (@JessicaPettway). We really enjoyed connecting with new curl-friends and meeting followers of our Instagram and blog! One of the most exciting parts of the day was when a follower stopped us both and said "Hey you're CHICNaturalistas!"

Sunday NONHE hosted an amazing brunch! The food was to die for and the mixing and mingling with our curl friends was priceless!
